What is Spiritual Awakening Night?

S.A.N. (Spiritual Awakening Night) is a meditation space for Bhakti Yoga. Our spiritual community gathers at 7pm every Friday evening for discussion on yoga philosophy, music meditation, and a vegan dinner feast; all for a $15 donation, or $10 with a student ID. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization under Matsya Inc. providing Bhakti outreach in Atlanta, GA.

A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

Our Founding-Archarya, Srila Prabhupada, dedicated his life to spreading the teachings of Krishna and Bhakti Yoga throughout the world. Srila Prabhupada set out to America in 1965 and established the International Society for Krishna Consciousness at the age of sixty-nine. He travelled around the world fourteen times, established more than 100 temples, ashrams and cultural centers, and initiated more than 10,000 disciples into Krishna consciousness.

Devamrita Swami is an educator, author, and monk in the Krishna Bhakti tradition. For over forty years, he has been traveling the world sharing the teachings and lifestyle of bhakti-yoga. With a unique ability to analyze modern problems through the wisdom of the Bhagavad-gita and Shrimad-Bhagavatam (essential Vedic texts), often addressing topics on spiritually based economics, sustainability, and environmentalism, his strategic guidance has proved invaluable to students and professionals seeking to balance their spiritual and professional life.

Shastra Krit Das is a humble servant to H.H. Devamrita Swami. Shastra has been practicing consciousness in Bhakti Yoga for over 20 years leading many souls to take a break from the material world. His goal is to encourage any and all spiritual souls to gather and meditate on mantras and yoga philosophy that has been proven to heal everyday issues.

Occasionally our teachers in training will lead a spiritual discussion and offer their recent realizations in consciousness to the group. These devotees are also part of the village helping our movement grow in Atlanta.
